"I hold space for women who are lost within grief. Who are holding it together on the outside but falling apart on the inside, who need time, space & support to find life again on their terms."

    My Passion

I am deeply passionate about supporting clients through the many forms of grief that life can bring, whether it's the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a change in indentity or the quiet grieving of unfulfilled dreams. Grief is not a one size fits all experience and I believe everyone deserves a safe, compassionate space to process emotions, find meaning in their journey and gently reconnect with themselves.

My work is rooted in empathy, personal understanding and the belief that healing is possible even when the path forward feels unclear. It's a priviledge to walk alongside my clients as they navigate their unique experience of grief and begin to rediscover hope and purpose.

    Why choose me?

What sets me apart from other coaches is the depth of empathy and lived experience I bring to my work. I coach from the heart, grounded in real life challenges I've personally faced and overcome, including grief, loss, single parenthood and rebuilding life from difficult moments. This gives me a unique insight into the emotional and practical struggles many of my clients face. I offer more than strategies, I offer understanding, connection and a safe space where people feel genuinely seen and heard. My approach is deeply human, blending evidence based techniques with warmth, honesty and intution. I take the time to truly get to know each client and tailor the journey to their needs, always walking beside them rather than ahead. It's this combination of authenticity, emotional depth and personilised support that makes my coaching truly transformative.

    My Story

Hello, I’m Suzanne Knowlson a Professional Health and well-being Coach. I wanted to give you an insight as to why I launched Positive Mind Life Coaching. I have a wealth of knowledge supporting people to achieve their goals in weight management.
Motivating and inspiring people to change their life is my passion as I find it so rewarding seeing the transformation and happiness it brings. I want to reach out to anyone with barriers or challenges around their physical and emotional well-being.

Throughout my life I have overcome lots of extremely difficult situations. Divorcing my first husband who was very dominant led to me to becoming a single parent with a mortgage to pay which left a huge financial burden. I was left emotionally drained and, in a situation, where I had to rebuild my life.

As time went on, I had slowly built up my confidence again and met my wonderful, now husband of 33 years. I was so excited when I fell pregnant, but this was not to last, at six months I experienced problems in the pregnancy and four weeks later after numerous appointments and scans I received the news I was dreading the baby had not survived and I had to deliver my still born baby daughter, which left me utterly heartbroken, and my confidence shattered.
Rebuilding my self-esteem was a slow process but with the amazing news I was pregnant again was a good start although very daunting. I delivered a beautiful baby boy who I adored and life with my husband and two sons was perfect. A year later sadly my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to start a course of intense treatment.

With a young family to look after, I wanted to be both mother and caring daughter, but it was a challenge as I had to provide childcare, support my father who was running a small family business and hold down a job, as you can image it was a huge challenge and a massive struggle but with the support of my wonderful husband and friends I managed to cope.

Then the devastating news my mother had secondary cancer and within 4 months she passed away at the tender age of 56. I went on to have 2 miscarriages due to the stress from my grief. My life fell apart, outside I was strong and supportive to family, especially my father but inside I was emotionally drained. I had gained weight, stopped exercising and my stress levels were through the roof. After 18 months of holding everything together the bubble burst and I was diagnosed with depression.

I took medication and went for therapy where I learnt to cope with my grief and live my life. I went to work alongside my father in his horticultural nursery, I did this for two reasons:

    1. We could support and watch out for each other

    2. It was easier to raise my family working in this environment.
Reflecting on the challenging parts of my life I decided change was needed so I started to work on building my confidence and emotional wellbeing. Providing a loving and secure home, a safe place to be myself and building plenty of family memories to cherish for a lifetime. I also concentrated on my self-care, I lost weight, joined a gym, and even run a marathon raising money for cancer research in memory of my mother.

I raised my boys into fabulous men who now have children themselves (my gorgeous and cherished four grandchildren). We sold our family home, moved to a brand-new house 25 miles away to be mortgage free and enjoy the freedom of being able to travel to beautiful places still making those precious memories to share with each other and our family.

Along came 2020 the pandemic hit and yet again life was turned upside down. The uncertainty of the virus effecting
your loved ones, not being able to see family and friends and the effect it had on my work commitments and finances lead to my mental health issues reoccurring and life took a turn for the worse. I needed to get clarity on all the uncertainty I was feeling, so I looked at life coaching as a solution. It gave me the resources I needed to rebuild my physical and emotional wellbeing.
I launched Positive Mind Life Coaching in January 2022 to support women to overcome barriers around their physical and emotional well-being to lead the happy and healthy lifestyle they desire. Everyone is unique and this will be reflected in your coaching experience.

Each session will be individually tailored to your needs, allowing you to think, reflect and plan actions to fulfil the goal(s) you want to achieve. I believe that with the desire to make change and achieve your goal and my commitment to supporting your thinking, decisions, and actions you will be the person you have always desired to be.

    Viv 1-1 Life Coaching

"From the moment I asked Suzanne about life coaching, she was gentle and kind.

I had a dozen sessions over 3 months during this time we looked at everything from finances to health, relationships and work. Suzanne encouraged me to explore how I felt, discuss problems and set realistic goals. She was completely patient, non-judgemental, interested and supportive.

Life coaching focuses on setting goals and looking forward which I found positive and refreshing. At the end of the sessions Suzanne Offered follow up sessions if needed. I can firmly recommend Suzanne's life coaching"

    Jennie 1-1

" I had the absolute pleasure of working with Suzanne on a 1-1 basis utilising 6 sessions over the course of 3 months.

I had been going back and forth in my mind over doing this but realised that if I don't invest in improving myself, no one will do it for me. I like to procrastinate and finally decided to take the plunge. She helped me understand what I needed to work through so I could improve my understanding of why I felt the way I did and build my resilence to work through these issues.

I found our sessions as well as the workbooks very useful and made me think deeper about topics to come to a positive outcome. It has been a few months since our last session and I am still feeling positive and able to cope with the things I did find hard before we started coaching. I would highly recommend Suzanne as she will help transform your way of thinking and help you improve your resilence for everyday life."
